Don’t Stop the Music! Taking Advantage of the Summer
As summer continues into August, we urge students - both those currently taking classes and those on a summer break - to continue to work toward their musical goals! The summer is a great time to focus on your music learning without the school year distractions and pressure. As tempting as it might be, taking a 2 month break from your musical studies can be detrimental to the progress you've been working so hard towards.
We have compiled some of our past blog posts on tips and tricks to keep you practicing during the dog days of summer!
Besides the many technical benefits of continuing your practice routine over the summer, having more free time, better focus and less distractions also allows your creative side to thrive! We encourage students to explore composing their own music to come up with some unique creations.
Don’t forget as well that our Top Summer Hit Songwriting Contest closes on August 17th!!
Be sure to submit a video of your song being performed live via Skype to live:centerstagemusiccenter by August 17th! We will share the videos on Facebook and Instagram on August 19th. The video with the most likes by August 24th will be named the winner!
